1991 10oz Aus kangaroo gold coin
i have some UC 1991 10oz Aus kangaroo gold coins still in their original casings. They look beautiful without an marks or wear.....smooth as ye like :bear_w00t:
Do these coins have numismatic values? i see lotsa of kangaroos, kruggerands, maples selling over their spots with gradings, etc. i guess they would be worth at least 10oz x USD1,000 each? |

Even the 1991 proof coin with an extremely low mintage of 124 was selling in 2003 for less than its issued price 12 years earlier. The 1993 coin with a mintage of only 23 coins, struggled to generate a 10% premium above its issued price more than ten years after it was minted. |

I wish I had "some" of those. Heck, I would be happy if I had one of those.

Re: 1991 10oz Aus kangaroo gold coin
maybe the extemely low volume, high price hurts any premium it might have had?
Wish I had even one. l;ol |

If 99.9% of the population can't afford to buy your coin; the premium isn't going to be generated. Below is the valuation history up to the year 2003 in Aussie dollars. Unfortunately I don't have the latest catalogue to give you current prices. I am guessing approx. $A14,000 http://www.ausbullion.com.au/liveprices.php Valuation History: 1991 Ten Ounce Gold $2,500 - Red Kangaroo Uncirc/Proof Issue ----- 7,115 1994 ----- 7,750 1995 ----- 7,750 1996 ----- 7,750 1997 ----- 7,750 1998 ----- 7,500 1999 ----- 7,250 2000 5,500 7,000 2002 5,500 7,000 2003 6,000 7,000 |
